So, so soooo excited.

So we finally got a quote to get the lounge/kitchen wall knocked out, and expand our built in wardrobes. Given that we both are complete construction newbies we were very pleasantly surprised by the quote. We're waiting on another quote to compare but it's looking like some walls could be knocked out within a few weeks!

Ooh, that's so exciting and yay for a reasonable quote!

There is so much stuff we need to do around our house - the bathroom and laundry being at the top of the list - it's just hard finding the time and money and it's such a big disruption. I'm very jealous that your renos are almost under way!

Now that I'm at home I can see the before shots - wow, you are not going to know yourself with extra wardrobe space! We had a wall like that in our house when we bought it - it was so satisfying knocking it down, although we had to be careful because it was covered in very (un)groovy mirror tiles!

Thanks! I am so hanging out to have a real honest to god wardrobe rather than a hole in the wall!

We got our second quote back today, which was a lot more expensive than the first. Still better than we originally thought, but it's almost 50% more than what the first guy said.

Guess we're gonna be doublechecking some stuff with first-quote-guy to make sure he hasn't missed anything!

Just resurrecting the Renovation Rescue thread to announce that we have ORDERED OUR WARDROBES!

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH YAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY

3 and a half more weeks and then the wardrobes will be in and I can move crap back out of the study and into the robes, and then we can get the carpet laid, and then...... and THEN.... we try to rebuild the bank account (hahahaha baby stuff to buy - AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
