Hubby organised a romantic day trip to a local resort. Spent the day swimming in the resort pool and sipping cocktails. Then at sunset we went for a walk to a point overlooking the ocean, which is where he pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed! He'd had the ring for months and I had no clue. Then we celebrated with a nice dinner at the restaurant

We were then married at the same resort 6 months later!

    Luckiest girl in the world

After 6 years, a house and a puppy later, i was busting at the seems! Managing a jewellery store never helps the proposal situation either! lol
Poor H2B (Hubby to be) was stressed and feeling flat because i knew it was coming and i'm not the easiest of women to surprise. lol. I used to live in QLD and my girlfriend just had a baby and I knew it wasn't right to go thanks to my bills!
On our 6 year anniversary we booked a place in Robe for the weekend and had been so excited all week.
That morning (not looking so glam) we loaded up the car. we argued all morning because i wanted to take the gas heater with us and H2B kept saying it wouldn't fit in the car. lol
Very early into our drive i was hungry and wanted hungry jacks! lol. H2B said there's one at the airport. Stupidly i said "why would we go to the one at the airport when we're going in a different direction" - he said - because we're going to the airport!
H2B arranged for my best friend to meet us at the airport to take our car, H2B flew me to the Brisbane and Proposed to me after dinner on a beautiful lookout overseeing the whole of Brisbane. We stayed on the gold coast, I got to see my beautifuls friends baby and I had the time of my life! Needless to say we never needed the gas heater! hehehe - I LOVE him and love that I got to share my story with you all! xxx 14 weeks to go

We had talked about getting engaged for about a year before he "popped the question", and I was getting VERY impatient! I kept hinting, and it seemed like it was never going to happen. Then, when I least expected it, on an evening when his parents were visiting from New Zealand and we had planned to go out for dinner, he took me aside and showed me the most perfect ring; the exact one that I had wanted! Of course I said yes right away - even though I had decided I was going to make him wait at least ten seconds with my answer to make up for all the time he had made me wait! - and we shared a long cuddle before we went and broke the news to his parents. They were very happy for us, and it turned the dinner out into an engagement celebration, which FH had already planned obviously, because when we got there he had a bouquet of roses waiting in the fridge in the restaurant! Now we've been engaged for three months, and I'm as happy and excited as the day that he proposed!!

    Met: 1 July 2005 // Proposed: 23. April 2010 // Wedding: 11. November 2011

I mentioned FH shoved a ring under my nose when doing the dishes in the last comp but i'll extend it a little on this one.

FH and I had lived apart for a few months while he was working out of town and we did a bit of commuting.

He had done a foundation studies course (basically a university "tester" to see if you thought you could do a degree) before moving away for work and it turned out he'd topped one of his classes and was getting an award, so came home for the prizegiving. He must have been doing a bit of thinking about the future, so the day he came home, he was down at the university signing up as a late enrollment to start uni next week! Little did I know he had a ring too.
It was a normal evening, very uneventful, i'd cooked some dinner at home and was doing the dishes, he shoved some flowers under my nose that happened to have some cadbury creme eggs nestled in them and I initially thought it was just a random gift, til I saw the sparkle.
His words were "Don't make me get on bended knee - its not going to happen" - so his attempts at being romantic by putting it in with the flowers were killed a little bit, but of course I said yes.
then the next day after his prizegiving, we had a celebratory dinner with his family, which involved spilling the news but trying to hide my ring until we got to the restaurant

We were at the beach not far from where we now live, chatting about life and our future plans together. Before I knew it he was down on one knee and popped the question, very sweet. We still go that same beach, 20 years later, but now it is to take our kids surfing, how life moves on

H2B and I moved out together after 8 months of dating..
After a year of so of living together we starting talking marriage..
We werent in any hurry but I think its good to talk before hand and make sure your on the same page..

So the place we were living wasnt far from Grange so we developed 'a spot' where we would go and get fish and chips, sit and talk about life and what was going on etc.. I had just got a great new job and H2B had gotten into the police force, we really felt like we were getting to where we wanted! So we decided to look at rings, i found the most gorgeous one by pure accident and it just happened to be on sale too!!
So H2B agreed and we put it on layby.. Paid it off and H2B bought it home, sat it in the cupboard and made me look at it until he was ready.. LOL

It was our anniversary on Xmas Eve and we had talked about announcing it at the family lunch..
23rd Dec rolled around and I was starting to get impaitent.. LOL
I figured it would be the next day. But on the way home from his Mum's he suggest we have dinner at our spot.. We pulled up outisde the chip shop and he practically shoved me out the car door, claimed he wouldnt be able to find a park and for me to get dinner and meet him down there..
I was already suss but this just made it worse.. LOL
The lady at the chip shop couldnt cook fast enough..!!

Sure enough, I got down to our spot and he was sitting there waiting on one knee..
He already had a picnic ready and everything, was so cute to have that little while to ourselves before we shared the news! :-)

We now take our puppy to that spot and have dinner in summer, watching the sunset!
We're also having photos there on our wedding day!!

Even though we'd chosen the ring together and I knew it was coming at some point soon, it took me by surprise.

I wanted to go down to the beach for a walk, we headed down about 8pm (day light savings) and he was madly looking at the sun, I'm thinking what on earth is he doing.

As we got down to the beach, he pulled out the camera and video camera and said I need practice. We walked along and then he gave me the video camera and told me to follow him. Then he proposed to me, so beautiful, I had tears. We now have that very special moment on video

darren asked me on my birthday last year. had a shocking lead up, and we got our house approval on my bday and went out to our fave place for dinner to celebrate, after dinner we went for a walk and i turned around to find him on one knee and he asked me to be his wife. it was very romantic, then we went to the place we had our very first date. turns out he asked my dad the night before.
it was grogeous, i had no idea. xx
